Nicole Thompson is the founder of the Ebony Network. The question was how she would build it. She figured it out, and today she owns several businesses: an HOA management company, a personal image and style consultancy, a marketing firm, and a legal document preparation service. Although all of these are totally different and may seem disconnected to others, she makes it work because each business feeds a different side of her personality and passions. Since she is an expert in time and project management, her time gets divided seamlessly amongst her business passions, and nothing slips through the cracks.
Nicole has been in the community and project management industry for over 30 years. After taking classes to learn about money and creating wealth, she quickly realized that having only one job, one source of income, was not the way to go when wanting to truly build a wealth legacy for herself and her family. That is when she knew she needed to create more streams of income.
In creating and growing these businesses, she wanted a place to go for inspiration and motivation, but the typical networking organizations just were not cutting it for her. She also realized she wanted to surround herself with more like-minded women of color because they share a deep understanding of the special set of obstacles that women like her can experience in business.
